Urban Art Festival Styria 2025
Lots of color, cool beats, interactions, media art, design and upcycling are promised by this year's "Urban Art Festival Styria", which will take place from 17 to 25 Aug in the city of Graz, the market town of Passail and in various regions in Styria.
The theme of this year's art productions is “Transformation”.
... Digitalization is one of several transformations whose consequences for almost all facets of our existence are immense. How we communicate, how we get around, how we work, how we consume, how we learn, how we become politically active - everywhere the use of digital information technology and digital communication technology is changing what has been established up to now. ...
The festival will address this topic with national and international artists and will use large-scale street art images to generate a great deal of publicity and communication.
Among other things, squares, walls and objects will be dipped in color in the form of street art, recycled material will be processed into fashion and works of art, and young new music trends from many parts of Europe will make public spaces resound.
Throughout the festival, international stars of the art scene such as Lunar (HR), KJ263 (DE), Jacoba Niepoort (DK), SMACK (HR) as well as young artists and artists from various European countries will work together on new innovative projects and present them tot he public.
In addition, new locations will be used again this year. Events will take place at Parkhouse Graz, Umspannwerk Keplerbrücke Graz, in the Almenland in the market town of Passail and in various regions of Styria.
The music program is also particularly innovative. The festival focuses on in-house productions and new interpretations. Like in a music laboratory, music is composed, produced and premiered.
A wide range of musical styles, from Styrian dialect pop with SladoledLoveKomet, crossover with “The Callboys”, beatboxer and beatmaker Murat through to “Exit Universe” with Raphael Meinhart and Ukrainian Avant Garde provide a cool groove.
